FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NON-PROFIT LEADERS CONVENE FOR DRESS FOR SUCCESS CONFERENCE
Annual conference kicks off with reopening of newly
renovated and organized boutique by The Container Store®
New York, NY – (July 6, 2009)
Dress for Success Worldwide,
an international not-for-profit organization that promotes
the economic independence of disadvantaged women,
will convene its annual affiliate leadership conference,
Creating
Opportunities in Challenging Times, on
July 12-15 at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.
Seventy-four
affiliates from around the world will be represented.
Presenting sponsors of the conference include Gap Inc. and
Citi.
The conference is held each year to provide Dress for
Success affiliates with an opportunity to develop their
nonprofit leadership skills, network with their peers, learn
from industry experts, and become re-energized in their
work. Through workshops, panels and discussion groups,
representatives from each affiliate will leave the summit
better equipped to serve the women who utilize their
services.
A highlight of the conference is the Awards Banquet, during
which Dress for Success Worldwide honors deserving
affiliates that have made a significant impact in their
communities within the past year. The banquet will inspire
and celebrate the efforts of Dress for Success affiliates.
“I am thrilled to host
Creating
Opportunities in Challenging Times in
New York
this year,” said Joi Gordon, CEO of Dress for Success
Worldwide. “In
this economy, we need to ensure that every affiliate has all
the tools needed to succeed and the best way to accomplish
that is to learn from sister affiliates.”
Dress for Success Worldwide is also celebrating its recently
renovated Manhattan boutique.
The Container Store,
the nation’s originator and leading retailer of storage and
organization products, donated $2,000 worth of its elfa®
modular shelving and drawer system to the boutique. More
than 20 employees from The Container Store’s two
Manhattan
stores will lead the installation of the boutique’s new
organization solutions on Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, June
30. The new storage will allow Dress for Success to maximize
the space of its garments, shoes and other accessories that
help disadvantaged women in
New York City.
