FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DRESS FOR SUCCESS WORLDWIDE CELEBRATES BREAKFAST CLUB
SUCCESS
Unemployed Women Gain Support and Confidence in Job Search
New York,
NY
– (September 17, 2009)
Dress for Success Worldwide celebrated its pilot Breakfast
Club and the program’s 20 members today in
Queens,
NY.
The Breakfast Club is a 12-session workshop that
centers on career planning and development to help its
unemployed and underemployed women understand themselves
better, gain confidence in using available resources and
develop essential career-oriented skills to meet their
long-term professional goals.
The program launched at the Queens branch of Dress for
Success Worldwide this summer and was recently implemented
in the Manhattan and Bronx
branches. The
Breakfast Club incorporates various activities and group
discussions to promote professional and personal networking,
knowledge-sharing and relationship building.
Dress for Success clients meet weekly to share
frustrations and fears in their job search and provide a
support system for one another.
In this increasingly pressurized job market, Dress for
Success recognizes the importance of providing an outlet
where women can work together in confronting the “real
world” on their journey to success.
“I am proud that we are able to expand our career
development services to include the Breakfast Club,” said
Joi Gordon, CEO of Dress for Success Worldwide.
“Not only do the members learn the fundamental tools,
they also receive support and encouragement from one another
to enhance their job search.”
“Each week I look forward to the different discussions,
motivational speakers and progressive information,” said
Joymarie Williamson, Breakfast Club member.
“I realize I am getting stronger, more confident and
very knowledgeable [because of the Breakfast Club].”
