WAL-MART DESIGNS SUITS FOR NON-PROFIT
ORGANIZATION DRESS FOR SUCCESS
New York, NY—
Wal-Mart recently made a donation of
more than 2,000 career suits and 4,000 knit tops to Dress
for Success,
the international non-profit organization that promotes the
economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing
professional attire, a network of support and the career
development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
Wal-Mart, in conjunction with its George label, designed and
manufactured the career pieces specifically created for
Dress for Success clients, all of whom are preparing for
interviews and for employment. The lining of the suit
jacket displays the inspirational phrase "Yes you can,"
giving the organization's clients an extra confidence boost
and the motivation they need to land the job.
Thanks to the generosity of Wal-Mart, ten New York, New
Jersey and Philadelphia-based affiliate locations will
receive a donation of suits and accompanying knit tops to
outfit their clients.
Dress for Success CEO Joi Gordon commented, "In these
difficult economic times, the support of a corporation such
as Wal-Mart becomes vital to our organization's ability to
carry out its mission. This incredible donation will
provide a source of hope for thousands of deserving women who will proudly wear the Wal-Mart suit and top on their
interviews and as they begin their journeys toward
self-sufficiency and success."
