DRESS FOR SUCCESS AND DISADVANTAGED WOMEN TO BENEFIT FROM OFFICE DEPOT SUCCESS STRATEGIES FOR BUSINESSWOMEN CONFERENCE
Local Affiliates in Six Cities Across the U.S. to Receive Office Furniture and Funds Generated at Conference
Delray Beach, Fla. :
Office Depot (NYSE: ODP), a leading global provider of office products and services, today announced that the Company's signature Success Strategies for Businesswomen Conference will raise funds and collect in-kind donations for Dress for Success, an international non-profit organization which provides interview suits and career development services to disadvantaged women making the transition into the workforce.
Donations generated at the 2007 Office Depot Success Strategies series, hosted in Orlando, FL; Dallas, TX, Orange County, CA; Chicago, IL, Washington, DC; and Philadelphia, PA, will go directly to local Dress for Success affiliates.
Office Depot's relationship with Dress for Success began in 2005. Since then, Office Depot has supported events such as the Dress for Success 2006 Success Summit, and provided organization members with office supplies and business products, including the FranklinCovey Planning System Kit.
"The Success Strategies for Businesswomen Conference, which brings female business owners and professionals together from all around the country, offers a great opportunity for Office Depot to help support such a worthy organization like Dress for Success," said Cindy Campbell, Executive Vice President of Business Solutions Division for Office Depot. "While networking with their peers and fostering their own business relationships, attendees will also be able to help build the groundwork that will help other women thrive in work and in life."
Proceeds and in-kind product donations will be generated at each of the six Office Depot Success Strategies events through the following on-site activities:
- Exclusive Foray and FranklinCovey Ladies Business Totes will be sold at the Success Strategies for Businesswomen Conference, with 5% of all sales donated to Dress for Success;
- Attendees are asked to bring in nearly-new business bags in exchange for 10% off a new Foray or FranklinCovey Ladies Business Tote;
- Silent Auction, during which conference attendees can bid on lunch meetings with executives from Office Depot, Count-Me-In, Center for Women's Business Research, and other established organizations. Net proceeds will be given to Dress for Success;
- Office Depot will donate a complete office furniture collection, on display in the conference EXPO, to the local Dress for Success affiliate in each city.
"We are honored to be the beneficiary of the funds and products generated by Office Depot," said Joi Gordon, Chief Executive Officer of Dress for Success Worldwide. "The money raised at the Office Depot Success Strategies for Businesswomen Conference will help us to provide disadvantaged women with professional apparel, a renewed self-confidence, as well as the tools to build a career and achieve self-sufficiency."
