The Professional Women's Group (PWG) is an international employment retention program, which empowers low-income women to advance in their careers, develop leadership skills, and contribute to their communities. Dress for Success has 50 Professional Women's Group programs in the U.S. and Canada and celebrates its 10,000th Professional Women's Group member at the Success Summit. The 2007 Success Summit, a leadership conference for PWG representatives, will include a delegate and a coordinator from 34 Dress for Success affiliates in the U.S. and Canada.

This year's Success Summit delegates are a diverse and impressive group of women. All are currently employed and have been members of the Professional Women's Group for an average of two years. They range in age from 26 to 63, and 86% have children. Approximately 31% of delegates have either a two or four year college degree, 41% have some college credits and over one-third have supervisory responsibilities in their jobs.

"The Success Summit signifies the importance of Dress for Success' employment retention programs and the impact they have on emerging women leaders. We are honored to have 10,000 Professional Women's Group members that have benefited from our programs and are now role models in their local communities," said Joi Gordon, Chief Executive Officer of Dress for Success Worldwide.

At the Success Summit, women will participate in seminars and interactive sessions designed to further develop and enhance their leadership skills. Topics addressed at the conference include: Successful Women and Their Secrets to Success, Leadership, Financial Success, The Importance of Networking, among others.

"I am excited to learn new leadership skills and network with other women at the PWG conference. I want to take what I learn at the conference and truly make a difference in my community," said Tracy DeSha, the delegate representing Dress for Success Midwest.

Another highlight of the conference is the announcement of the second annual Professional Women's Group Achievement Awards at a dinner on Saturday, July 14. The awards will be presented to one delegate and one Dress for Success affiliate who utilized the leadership skills they acquired at last year's conference to help their PWG and local community. A key element of the selection process was the outcome of community action projects spearheaded by delegates after they attended the Success Summit. Some of the projects included food drives, nursing home visits, voter registration events and educational fairs.
