Women Helping Women,
a breakfast to benefit Dress for Success was held on December 6, 2011 at
the Roosevelt Hotel in New York
City.
We are so thankful to everyone who made
Women Helping Women 2011 a
great success! The
event
welcomed nearly 400 guests and raised more than $102,000 to support our
vital employment retention programs.
Our guest speaker Mikki Taylor was inspirational and truly
exemplified
the essence of Dress for Success and its clients – strong, spirited and
determined.
Women Helping Women
has become one
of Dress for Success’ premier fundraising events. The event is
designed to benefit the Professional Women’s Group and our employment
retention program.
The Professional Women’s Group is an international networking
association for Dress for Success clients who have recently entered the
workforce, some for the first time, to provide support, practical
information and inspiration to help women achieve self-defined success
in career and in life. It is the first and only employment
retention model that moves low-income women towards self-sufficiency by
addressing their social and economic needs in relation to work, home and
community.
This intimate breakfast brings together
volunteers, donors and corporate sponsors to celebrate not only the
success of our members who have re-entered the workforce, but also of
women everywhere who have taken charge of their careers and assisted
other women along the way.
This years event was presented by
Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, lia sophia, and The Verizon Foundation.
Plans for Women Helping Women
2012 are underway. For more information on sponsoring or participating,

Something to Share Worldwide Gala 2011 |
 |
The Dress for Success 2011 gala was indeed, Something to Share!
Through this single event, we raised more than $1.7 million
dollars—money that will help tens of thousands of women get back on
their feet and become self-sufficient.
We are sincerely grateful for the support of our event chairs
Bobbi Brown and Maureen Case.
We are humbled by the presence of Niecy Nash and David Meister,
who joined us as we paid tribute to their mothers, Margaret Ensley and
Darlene Meister, for raising them to be the kind of people who raise our
expectations of what we can become.
We are moved by the success story of Jessenia Silverio who shared
her story of triumph over tribulations.

|
We are inspired by dressbarn, Ogilvy & Mather, and Goldman Sachs
10,000 who were honored for the work they do to advance the lives of
women around the world each day.
This year’s Something to Share gala unfolded before a sold-out room of
donors, celebrities, sponsors, friends and supporters of Dress for
Success. As our ballroom was transformed into a beachfront oasis, the
spirit of giving was palpable and the lives we are able to change
because of our attendees’ generous support extends well beyond the
conclusion of that evening.
We are so thankful to all who helped make that April 5th
night Something to Share.
Please join us next year as we continue to build on this excitement and
energy and raise much needed money to help keep the women of Dress for
Success Going Places. Going Strong.
