Dress for Success Worldwide holds a leadership conference
every year to provide our affiliates an opportunity to discuss
common rewards and challenges, learn from experts and become
re-energized in their work. Through workshops, panels and
discussion groups, representatives from our locations around
the world leave the meeting more equipped and inspired to
increase their outreach to the women who need their services.
This event has been held seven times in New York City, in Tampa
Bay, FL (2000), in Cleveland, OH (2004), in Houston, TX (2006)
in Atlanta, GA (2008) and Washington DC (2010).
150 representatives from nearly 90 Dress for Success
affiliates descended on New York City in late June to attend
this year's annual affiliate leadership conference, Going
Places, Going Strong: Our Global Pursuit of Success. A
highlight of the conference was the awards banquet during
which the following affiliates were recognized for their
extraordinary achievements over the past year.
Sisterhood Award
Dress for Success Triangle NC
Voted on by affiliates,
the Sisterhood Award is given to the affiliate that truly
embodies the definition of "sisterhood." Supportive,
informative, accessible and inspirational were just a few
words used to describe Dress for Success Triangle NC by other
affiliates. This affiliate is not only invaluable to their
clients, but also a true asset to several other affiliates.
Rookie of the Year Award
Dress for Success Inland Northwest &
Dress for Success Phoenix
Dress for Success awards an
affiliate that has achieved remarkable success in its first
year of operation with the Rookie of the Year Award. Both
Dress for Success Inland Northwest and Dress for Success
Phoenix have made significant strides since opening their
doors by serving hundreds of women, raising significant funds
and bringing awareness of the organization to their
communities.
Lublin Award
Dress for Success Auckland,
Dress for Success Metro Jackson &
Dress for Success South Central PA
Named for our
founder, the Lublin Award is the highest honor given by Dress
for Success Worldwide to an affiliate for making an impressive
impact in its community. All our affiliates continue to raise
the bar extremely high and so this year we honored not one,
but three worthy affiliates, Dress for Success Auckland, Dress
for Success Metro Jackson and Dress for Success South Central
PA. Each of these affiliates continues to amaze us with their
hard work and achievements. Dress for Success Worldwide
applauds the remarkable work of each of our affiliates. The
staff and volunteers in every location are helping change
their communities one woman at a time.
Although the annual leadership conference is for Dress for Success affiliates only, there are opportunities for sponsors, volunteers and speakers to get involved. If you would like to learn more
