Power Walk 2013
"Not even fresh but gusty southerlies (straight from Antarctica) and showers
could stop nearly 90 fearsome walkers from participating in the inaugural
Dress for Success Power Walk," says Cheryl Te Horo, Wellington Dress for
Success board member.
The walk links the importance of health and employment success.
Our thanks to the volunteers who weathered the elements and supported this
event.

Joint winners – Dominion Post Wellington of the Year Awards
The staff and volunteers at Dress for Success Wellington would like to sincerely thank everyone who voted for us at the recent Dominion Post Wellington of the Year Awards. We were joint winners of the Readers' Choice Charity Donation section and we are delighted to share the honour with Kiwi Community Assistance.
Dress for Success is a nationwide organisation which helps thousands of Kiwi women wishing to enter or re-enter the workforce by providing professional clothing for job interviews and career development tools to help them thrive at work and in life.
To be a chosen charity is a testament to the passion and dedication of our committed team of staff, volunteers and supporters, and we wish to congratulate the other category winners – all of whom are making positive contributions to peoples’ lives.
Once again – thank you greater Wellington – you are helping make a difference.

Dress for Success Wellington promotes the economic independence of women by providing professional work attire, a network of support, and career development tools to help them thrive in work and in life.
Clients come to us via a referral agency. We provide them with an appropriate outfit for their first job interview or work experience that allows them to feel confident and prepared. When they get their job, they may select a second outfit to begin their working life.
Outfits are selected at a dressing appointment with the help of a personal dresser. Outfits are free of charge, and do not need to be returned. See For Clients for more information.
Following a second dressing, we invite women to join our Professional Women’s Group (PWG), which provides a support network as they develop their career.
You can apply to become one of our Referral Agencies if you are a not-for-profit organisation that works with women who could benefit from our services.
