It takes substantial funding to keep our doors open and serve the low-income women of our community. With the current state of the economy, the demand for our services has increased 150% in the last five months.  Our services are a life-line to the many low-income women in the Portland metro area (85% are single mothers) who are struggling to get a job to support themselves and their families.

This year Dress for Success Oregon is celebrating its 10th Anniversary.   Since we began operating in February, 1999, we have served over 7,500 women, and with the current demand for our services, we will serve our 10,000th client by the end of 2009.  But we need your help!  Our goal is to reach out to 10,000 supporters and ask for $10 through our ConnecTen Campaign.  If you connect with 10 friends and ask them to donate $10, together we become a powerful force to change lives and impact our community.

 CLOTHING DONATIONS

 

We appreciate your generosity in donating clothes to help other women succeed in the workplace!   

 

We are seeking clothing---including purses, shoes, jewelry and other accessories--- that would be appropriate to wear in an office setting.  To assure that our clients look professional, we ask that the clothing you donate is:

 

  • Clean---no spots or stains
  • Current Style—within the last five years or classic pieces
  • Excellent condition
  • On Hangers---please no bags or boxes unless they contain shoes, handbags and/or accessories

 

We especially have a need for plus-size clothing---sizes 16 and higher.

  • Unused Pantyhose
  • Pants/Slacks
  • Scarves & Belts
  • Blouses
  • Handbags & Umbrellas
  • Jackets
