Since 2000, Dress for Success Louisville has carried on the mission started in New York City by a young law student who used agiftfrom her great-grandfather to make a difference in the city around her. Serving over 3000 women locally since our beginning, Dress for Success Louisville provides career attire and professional development to women in 9 Kentucky and 4 Southern Indiana counties.

clothing donations

We are accepting professional business attire for women, purses, jewelry, and accessories.

Donations will be accepted on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. by appointment only and on the third Saturday of each month between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12 p.m. To schedule an appointment to drop off, please call the boutique at (502) 584-8050 to schedule an appointment.

If your company or organization is interested in sponsoring a clothing or accessories drive, please call (502) 584-8050 for more information and to discuss the ideal time.

Donors will receive a receipt for all donations brought to our Boutique. The donor determines the value of the items donated.

Donors’ personal contact information will never be sold, rented or exchanged with other organizations or any other entity in existence unless Dress for Success Louisville receives written expressed permission from the donor.

Donor Bill of Rights

Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. To ensure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the non-profit organizations and causes they are asked to support, Dress for Success Louisville declares that all donors have these rights:

1.) To be informed of the organization's mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.

2.) To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization's governing board and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.

3.) To have access to the organization's most recent financial statements.

4.) To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.

5.) To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.

6.) To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.

7.) To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.

8.) To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.

9.) To be assured that personal contact information obtained by Dress for Success will not be sold, rented, or exchanged with other non-profit organizations.

10.) To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
