Dress for Success does not presently have an affiliate in Winnipeg or Manitoba.  We know that there are many women in the province who could benefit from our suiting, employment retention and career development programs, and the Worldwide office has identified Winnipeg as a priority with regard to our growth in Canada.  Dress for Success is a grassroots organization, and we therefore are seeking passionate, dedicated and motivated individuals within the community—working either alone or as a group—who want to help change women's lives by establishing an affiliate.  

A Dress for Success in Winnipeg would offer support and assistance to women entering or returning to the workforce as they journey towards economic independence, rewarding careers and brighter futures for themselves, their families and their children.  We may be best known for providing professional apparel to disadvantaged women, but the suits that Dress for Success gives out are more than just clothes—they symbolize our belief in every woman's ability to succeed.

Establishing a non-profit organization can be challenging and time-consuming, just as it would be to start any business.  But the rewards of working with women as they gain self-confidence, pursue their dreams and begin to fulfill their potential—thriving both in work and in life as a result—are innumerable and immediate.  

There are certainly difficulties when starting an affiliate, but support is available throughout the process.  All Dress for Success affiliates have access to help from the Worldwide staff—who can answer questions, offer guidance and provide resources whenever needed—and from a network of "sister" organizations located throughout the world, who are eager to share their knowledge, information and experiences.

Please note that Dress for Success is not accepting clothing donations in Winnipeg at this time.  We will not collect clothing in the community until an affiliate is opened.

We also cannot offer services to the women of Winnipeg, as we do not have a facility in the area.  There are, however, six other affiliates in Canada, serving Central Alberta (Red Deer), Halifax, Ottawa's National Capital Region, Regina, Toronto and Vancouver.  Please click on the above links to learn more about these organizations, including how you can support them with a donation of clothing, a financial contribution or by volunteering.
