A 'Sparkling' Success!
This charming young woman is a single mother of two small children who was unemployed and referred to us by the Columbus Urban League.  As she shares in her story, after her suiting at Dress for Success Columbus she got the job!  Now employed, she is part of PWG and also volunteers at our boutique.

My Experience with Dress for Success has been a SUCCESS!

When I first learned that I had an appointment, I just thought it would be an ordinary old thrift store.  To my surprise I was all wrong.  There was a personal shopper who worked with me until I found something I felt comfortable in, no matter how many outfits I tried on.  The clothes were in good condition and in style of today's interview attire.  Then afterwards, I got a makeover.  My makeup was perfect, everything blended so well.

I was also given jewelry and a scarf which opened my eyes to accessories which can make your outfit look well put together on any day.

The day I had my appointment at Dress for Success I also had a job interview.  I got the job!  I was so ecstatic and I leared your looks play a major part, first impressions are everything.

The staff at Dress for Success are positive, friendly, outgoing, and give you the confidence you need to go out and get the job that you want, and to dress the part.

I think that Dress for Success is such a great asset to the community, I have begun to do volunteer work for their organization.

They have job openings from the community listed on bulletin boards and on the front desk for clients to take aftter they are given the clothes.  I would highly recommend all women attend Dress for Success before they go on their interview.

Donations  are accepted every Friday (unless otherwise noted) from 10AM - 4PM at 1260 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43201.  If Friday is not convenient, we also accept donations by appointment or via mail.  Please call the agency, 614.291.0431, for alternative arrangements.

Donation Dates To Remember For Tax Purposes

 

The last day for 2010 tax-deductible clothing donations is Friday, December 17, 2010.

Dress for Success Columbus completes year-end inventory and auditing December 20 - 31, 2010.  We do not accept clothing donations or schedule suiting appointments during this time.  

Regular schedule for suiting & clothing donations resumes Monday, January 3, 2011.

We have a critical need for professional jewelry, accessories, handbags, footwear and plus-size (14 and up) professional clothing.                                                 

Please give items that you would wear to an interview tomorrow.  Donations to our Dressing Program are free of charge to each and every woman we serve.

Thank you for your generosity and understanding of our budget and storage space limitations when reviewing this information.
