thank yous
Many thanks to Heritage Farm Museum!

Heritage Farm Museum and Village in the Harveytown district in Huntington graciously provided the warm and beautiful venue for our 2009 “Thanks for Giving!” Volunteer Appreciation banquet.

The antique oil lanterns in the windows welcomed us and let us know it was worth the drive!

We dined on three kinds of lasagna, and a variety of delicious salads and side dishes, and enjoyed each other’s company prior to the announcement of our volunteer awards.

                                    “SHERRI SMITH DAY!”

Our 2009 Volunteer Recognition Banquet was extra-special as we honored our founder, Dr. Sherri Smith, who has since stepped down as Executive     Director, but who remains very much a mentor and supporter of Dress for Success ® River Cities. Sherri’s father, Bob Smith, offered the invocation.

New DFS® River Cities Executive Director, Jessica Graham, who is a talented singer-songwriter, honored Sherri and attendees with a song written about the women who have been helped by Dress for Success ® River Cities.

Huntington Mayor Kim Wolfe read a proclamation thanking Sherri for her service to the women of the region, and declared December 3, 2009 “Sherri Smith Day!”

Thanks also to all who helped make the "Taste of Independence" Luncheon a huge success!!
