JULY 27-29
Online Game of "Tag" Honors
The Suiting of Our 2,010th Client
Beginning noon Tuesday, July 27, Dress for Success Charlotte will launch a fundraiser that harnesses the power of social media in a virtual game of "tag" to commemorate the recent suiting of our 2,010th client.
Dress for Success Charlotte provides women with interview-appropriate attire, a support network and the tools for their economic self-sufficiency and to help break the cycle of poverty. We have seen an 80% increase in just two years and the suiting of nearly 500 new clients in 2009. Besides interview-appropriate attire, clients benefit from programs and services at the organization's Career Center, which offers one-on-one coaching, mentoring, free internet access and interactive group workshops.
The online-only fundraiser runs from noon Tuesday, July 27, to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 28 (yes, that's a total of 2,010 minutes).
How it will work:
1. Dress for Success Charlotte will kick off the campaign at noon Tuesday, July 27, by "tagging" 10 of our supporters via Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter (30 total).
2. Each person who has been tagged will be asked to donate $10 to the organization through an online donation site linked to Paypal.
3. After making a donation, we ask that they "tag" 10 friends to make a donation.
4. Besides posting in a status update or tweet, donors can add a special Dress for Success Charlotte "twibbon" to their photo on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to show that they've been tagged. The "twibbon" link is on the donation page. Participants on Twitter are asked to use the hash-tag #CareTag when tweeting about their donations.
5. You can play via email by clicking "tagging" your friends and family with a link to this page!
