Dress for Success Charlotte is a 501 (c) 3 organization and 100% dependent on individuals, corporations and foundations to help support our programs and services.  Please help us to continue to provide much needed services to women in our community by making a financial contribution in any amount to our organization.

Thank you for your interest in helping women move up and out of poverty and on to a path of self sufficiency.

Below are general Donation Guidelines established to assist you in choosing the right clothes to donate to Dress for Success and to assist us in maximizing our volunteer and space resources. We realize we have rigid guidelines, but due to space, and our mission of providing interview appropriate clothing, we must only accept those items that are in season, in style, on hangers and dry cleaned.  The best way to determine if it should go to Dress for Success or if it should go to another organization is to ask yourself if you would wear it to a professional interview today and is it in interview ready condition. If you answer yes to these questions, please call 704.525.7706 to schedule an appointment. 

What We Can Accept

  • All clothes must be interview appropriate
  • All clothes must be in excellent condition, in season, in style, on hangers and dry cleaned
  • All clothes must have size labels
  • Shoes, purses, and scarves must be new or next to new and conservative in color and design
  • Conservative jewelry stored individually in clear zip lock bags
  • Pantyhose and knee highs in original, unopened packages
  • Receipts are available upon receipt of your donation.

Dress for Success Charlotte has established controls on the handling and acknowledgement of contributions and will respect any donor's request for confidentiality. If a donor does not want personal information shared outside the organization, he or she can indicate that preference verbally or in writing at the time the donation is made or at anytime thereafter, and the request will be honored. 

Donors’ personal contact information will never be sold, rented or exchanged with other organizations or any other entity in existence unless Dress for Success Charlotte receives written expressed permission from the donor.
