Who Can Use It?

Dress for Success Charlotte suits job-ready clients by referral only from one of a continually expanding number of diverse nonprofit member organizations, including homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, job training programs, and literacy programs. The program was recently featured on a local news cast. See the WSOC-TV news story.

At no charge, clients receive two suits for interviews and a working suit once they get a job. In addition, the Professional Women’s Group (PWG), a networking association, encourages career growth for clients who have successfully gained employment.

Why We Need Your Support

In 2007, 276 women sought the help of Dress for Success Charlotte. By 2008, that number had grown to 400. It is projected that more than 500 women will need these services in 2009.

At 853 feet, the current Charlotte boutique is barely large enough to store the clothing needed for clients. Later this year, however, a new 3,000 square-foot facility will open, providing more dressing rooms, meeting space, and wardrobe storage. This new space will give clients greater privacy and a more professional setting for their suitings. Plans are also underway to launch a Tier 1 Career Center and a HR Helpline for clients.

Larger space and a growing number of clients means a greater need for support. Donate now and make a difference in someone’s life. Or, download the Pledge Form if you want to fax or mail your donation.
