Every day is a different day here at Dress for Success South Central PA.

Dress for Success South Central PA is a volunteer-driven organization. Our volunteers help us manage all work-related aspects on an ongoing basis.

Volunteers help us by:

Accepting, sorting, delivering and storing clothing donations

Personal shopping with clients

Helping clients in our career corner with résumés and cover letters

• Speaking at our Professional Women's Group meetings
• Giving image consulting workshops at our partner programs
• Soliciting funds and clothing from corporations
• Providing office support (i.e., maintain databases, write letters and send out tax receipts)
• Representing Dress for Success South Central PA at special events such as fundraisers or awareness-raisers.

All volunteers must complete a questionnaire so that the volunteer program coordinator can best match volunteers' interests with Dress for Success South Central PA's needs.  All volunteers go through an orientation process that includes an overview of the organization and training, when appropriate (i.e. when suiting clients) and shadowing a veteran volunteer or boutique coordinator.

OUR NEW PROGRAM FOR VOLUNTEERS: "POWER BAR" ~  POWER SUIT
Many of our volunteers work and would love to find ways to get involved.
Consider dedicating one lunch hour per week (or per month) suiting clients at one of our boutiques. Eat a power bar on the way to the boutique and you are ready to help us and get back to work. Set a day and time that you can come. We schedule clients at 11am, 12PM and 1PM for the lunch suiting opportunities. Our ability to help more women depends on our volunteer support. Our locations in Harrisburg and Lebanon are in walking distance to many downtown office locations. Free off street parking makes for easy access at the Harrisburg and York boutiques. A very short training program will be scheduled for volunteers involved in this personal shopper support.

   Volunteer Support
Tabling events are staffed by dedicated Volunteers. It is an excellent opportunity to share information about the mission of Dress for Success, network with other professional women and to educate women about our program. 

Our volunteer of the month is Val Warick. She is our "master painter" and "go to gal" for any volunteer projects or fundraising events we have for her at Dress for Success. 

Val has been a volunteer since October 2006 when she participated in our very first suit drive. 

Val is a Partner in Success.

We thank her for helping us for over 2 years and look forward to many more years.
