The Dress Me For Success Corporate Challenge was created as a fun and interactive fundraising initiative that brings businesses together to raise social awareness. As a full challenger in this month-long event, teams are responsible for hosting a clothing drive.
Full challengers will gather on September 1st at the Dress Me for Success Kick Off Event hosted at Oakridge Shopping Centre. Teams will be given their Full Challenger Info Packages, will be assigned a piece of an interview appropriate outfit, which will be their focus for the clothing drive portion of the month-long Challenge. After Info Packages have been distributed, Oakridge's Fall Trend Report 2010 will start! Lisa Tant, Editor-in-Chief of FLARE Magazine will give guests a sneak peak of fashion and beauty trends. There will be door prizes, gift bags, raffle prizes, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. A $20 donation at the door benefits Dress for Success Vancouver but make sure to RSVP by August 30th at www.flare.com/oakridge.
Throughout the Challenge, Dress for Success Vancouver will be asking teams to provide information updates at the end of every week. The Dress for Success Committee will then compile the info into a weekly newsletter that will be sent to all participating challengers and volunteers. You can follow the teams in their Challenge through Facebook, Twitter or a blog.
At the end of your month-long challenge, all teams will gather at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel on October 7, for the Dress Me for Success Wrap Up event! Teams will participate in a scavenger hunt and fashion show for guests and a panel of fashion experts. Awards will be given out for the most tickets sold per team, the most creative fundraising, and Best in Show for best overall Challenger.
