Dress for Success Charlotte launches
  Boutique and Career Transformation Center

On March 9, Dress For Success Charlotte Boutique and Career Transformation Center celebrated its grand opening at 500-A Clanton Road.

Dress For Success Charlotte, which served more than 500 women in 2009, moved from 853 square feet to more than 5,000 square feet in January. The new space includes a career center, a boutique with six dressing rooms, a community room, a warehouse for storage and staff offices.

Joi Gordon, president of Dress For Success Worldwide, was on hand to congratulate the affiliate and to personally thank donors and supporters on the Beyond The Boutique campaign.

Community advisors Susan McDonough and Susan McKeithen led the Beyond The Boutique Campaign. So far, more than $145,000 has been raised. If you would like to help, you can donate online!

See photos, videos and reports from the March 9 event!

Suits to Self Sufficiency

In 2010, we invite you to sponsor a Dress for Success Charlotte client. This is a great opportunity for individuals, social groups, civic organizations, clubs, etc., to join with Dress for Success Charlotte to help one or more of our women move up and out of poverty and onto a path of self-sufficiency by providing a complete interview appropriate outfit.

It’s very easy, and it’s up to you to select which option works best. You can make a direct contribution of $150 for each client you would like help suit or you and/or your group can purchase an outfit for one or more of our clients.

If you choose to purchase the outfit, please call Dress for Success Charlotte at 704.525.7706 so we can assign the suit and shoe size needed most.

Why we need you!

By May of 2010, Dress for Success Charlotte has suited as many clients this year as we did in all of 2007.

In 2009, Dress for Success Charlotte suited nearly 500 new clients, an 80% increase in services in just two years.

In addition to suiting services, 240 women utilized the Career Center and took advantage of numerous programs and services, including one-on-one coaching, mentoring and/or participated in interactive group workshops.

Please visit the various pages on our site to learn more about our programs and services, and the many opportunities there are to become a part of the Dress for Success Charlotte family.
